The number of students applying from non-partnering universities has almost doubled this year. This is a testament to the Elite Robotics Summer School’s recognition around the World. 

Head of the Elite Robotics Summer School, Professor Henrik Gordon Petersen from SDU welcomes this development: “Based on advice from the Advisory Board and our own observations, the Steering Committee is constantly evaluating potential new partnering universities. Students participating from non-partnering universities are a great opportunity to get to know universities with partner potential. Another is when we visit universities around the world – This year, we have Georgia Tech as a new partner. The Steering Committee had a delegation there at ICRA in 2025, and immediately invited them to become a partner university, due to their world-class research in Robotics. We are excited to welcome great students from all the prestigious partner universities.”

The students offered to participate in the Elite Robotics Summer School are selected based on their academic and motivational levels only. This means that students from non-partnering universities are evaluated on equal terms with all other students. Students from partnering universities are offered fully funded participation*, courtesy of the Novo Nordisk Foundation, whereas students from non-partnering universities have to finance their participation themselves.

*Danish Ph.D students have to pay their own tuition.

Top robotics professors from South Korea, USA, India and Germany are also visiting Denmark from 10 to 16 August, as part of the Global Innovation Network Programme (GINP). Today, they enjoyed an engaging visit to the IT University of Copenhagen, exchanging ideas and experiences. The program continues with visits to DTU and Novo Nordisk, offering further insight into Denmark’s innovation ecosystem.

The atmosphere is buzzing with collaboration, learning, and new connections.
